The kettlebell can actually be traced back way into the early 1700's, when Russian farmers used a similar tool to weigh their crops. They noticed that after lugging the tools around, they were becoming stronger. The Soviet Army took these tools and modified it into what it is today, the Kettlebell.
The Kettlebell is similar to the dumbbell, however the centre of mass in a kettlebell is away from the hand, creating a weight ideal for dynamic swinging exercises. Because the weight is further away from the hand, it also engages a lot more of the stabilising muscles, providing a more all-round workout.
Speaking of an all-round workout, the kettlebell is the perfect tool for almost anyone in the gym, providing a dynamic workout that combines both cardiovascular and strength training, whilst targeting almost all of the muscles of the body!
The benefits of these workouts are endless! Kettlebell workouts are quick, easy, fun, can be done anywhere, improves stability & flexibility, and all while being relatively low impact on the body, in fact, most exercises actually strengthen your joints!
